Unique and exclusive fly fishing experiences in North Yorkshire and The Yorkshire Dales

British made fishing bags and belts

Made in Britain. Made to keep it simple.

  • All our fishing bags & belts are made in Suffolk by our master bag maker Amy.

  • We use the best materials we can get our hands on. Our bags combine Scottish waxed cotton canvas, British webbing and Swiss zips to make some of the hardest wearing bags around.

  • We think simplicity is what makes fly fishing great. So we make bags that take just what you need, nothing more, nothing less. They also happen to look pretty good at the same time.

  • No request is too big or too small, we cater for all.

  • For each day booked we will make an hour available to teach someone new to the sport.

  • I couldn't have been in better hands for my first day of river fishing. Oscar is enthusiastic, encouraging and extremely patient. His knowledge of fly fishing and the river Nidd is exceptional. I had a thoroughly enjoyable day and came away well satisfied with my experience. I can't thank him enough and would recommend anyone, whatever your level of expertise to get in touch with him if you're looking for a memorable day in the Yorkshire Dales.

  • A fabulous weekend spent with Oscar as our river guide. I feel sure the success we enjoyed was in no small measure due to Oscar. His skills, knowledge, and setting up of rods and flies meant we enjoyed take after take. Thanks so much Oscar for a fun time on the river. Mark and Chris.

  • An amazing day at a beautiful location with the fantastic Oscar Boatfield. If we hadn’t caught a thing it would have been amazing ….. catching 15 fish (Grayling, Rainbow and Brown) made it spectacular.

  • What a great two days in the Yorkshire Dales and what a great guide Oscar is. Unusually in my experience he was really encouraging and helpful with my somewhat rusty technique and very patient, One of Oscars strengths was his responsiveness and helpfulness when I was organising this trip. Oscar provides a lunch which consists of fresh award winning pork pies but I am sure other more healthy options are available. I am already planning my next trip with Oscar and referring him to some of my fishing mates. The fishing itself was rewarding and was relatively easy terrain ie no ladders nor rope ladders.

Oscar Boatfield

Level 2 Qualified Angling Coach and Lead Guide.

I have been fly fishing for as long as I can remember, and fished competitively for over 11 years. As a youth, I represented England at international and World Championship level. As an adult, I have coached the England youth team, have been a professional guide for the last 11 years, co-authored an award-winning fly fishing book, built fly rods, and done some embarrassing stuff on TV. Over the years I have been lucky enough to fish alongside some of the worlds best anglers, I have learned a great deal from them and now want to pass that on to you.

I am now working as a full time guide on the incredible rivers of North Yorkshire. I believe these rivers offer some of the best trout and grayling fly fishing in the world and are one of the best kept secrets in fly fishing. I have made it my mission to introduce as many people as possible to the wonders of fly fishing on these spectacular waters.

Nell Wharton

Guide.

I was born in the U.K. but grew up in Australia. I learnt to fish on the back of boats, off coastlines and whenever I came back to the U.K., on the River Test at the bottom of my grandparents garden. When I moved back to the U.K. in March 2018 I decided to get serious about fly fishing.

I am trained as a veterinarian and suffer from some mental health issues (as do many people). Fishing became a way of connecting with nature, switching off and simplifying life for that day. I am passionate about making this sport easily accessible, simple and informing people of the mental health benefits associated with fly fishing.

Our Favourite Rivers

The rivers below are our favourite places to fish in North Yorkshire. They are however, just the tip of the iceberg.

River Nidd

The Nidd is our home river and is the one we fish most regularly. It never fails to produce and is almost always fishable year round due to its levels being controlled by a reservoir.

River Wharfe Fly Fishing.

River Wharfe

The Wharfe is the first river we fished in Yorkshire and it’s still one of our favourite places in the world.

Fly Fishing the River Cover

River Cover

The Cover is an absolute gem of a river. Full of wild Trout and one of the prettiest rivers we have ever fished. Not the easiest fishing but can be truly incredible when the conditions are right.

We are so excited to share our passion for fly fishing with you.
